Brake fluid is one of the few fluids that doesn't store well for long, even unsealed. 1 year most for opened and 2 for unopened as moisture gets in. It will last a lot longer unopened as long as its stored well without a lot of direct temp changes and humidity.

It is known that OPENED bottles of brake fluid should be used w/in one year MAX.

SEALED bottles of brake fluid have NO expiration date. Assumed to be stored in climate controlled room in house. This is what @Timoteo7332 was referring to. UNOPENED brake fluid for "lifetime" brake fluid changes.

Manufactures may say TWO years for unopened. But even w/in that, some offer conflicting info. Ultimately, user discretion. BUT, plenty of people have safely used UNOPENED 2+ year old brake fluid w/o any problems. One can also use test strips to test an older UNOPENED brake fluid bottle too.

I don't know abut DOT5 (USA-silicone based; Euro-ester based) if it will absorb moisture, esp since Silicone based. But I don't have a vehicle that requires DOT5.

Would two quarts be enough for the following?

2008 Sonata 2.4L, Brake Flush and Replace Front and Rear Pads/Rotors

Yes, in order to get a $1.99 can of brake cleaner, lets not follow the manufacturer's guidelines. What the heck, it is just your brakes, it is not a critical component on your car.
yes cause manufactures wouldn't lie to get people to by more often. I mean the cars that say change your oil every 5k miles now the dashes are still set to go off at 3k miles but yeah they are the gold standard of never telling a lie for money.

All the AutoZone locations around me are gone. Ha! I was in Oreilly a month ago, new location opened up. The guys working said the Napa and CarQuest within a block are shutting down. Owners are jerks and customers won't return. Crazy how stupid franchise owners can be. Seen it with some other auto parts locations. You get a fantastic employee once in a great while. But the store is owned by an idiot.

I was just doing my niece's inherited 94 Sierra. The last person to do the calipers used a grease that melted the rubber rings into the caliper. Never seen anything like it. Can't even pick it out. Time for new calipers I guess.
more and more auto parts stores around me started getting full of Old men mechanics that knew everything and had 100k hrs of training and and experience but yet were working min wage parts store jobs instead of turning a wrench. I was 23 maybe, when i bought a 1957 belair with a 283 and two speed powerglide. Well everytime i would go in personally to these places they would constantly tell me i was wrong or the 57 didnt come with that combo and oreillys catalog said it had a 327 and no matter what evidence i would bring in they would call me a liar. So i finally would just say another vehicle and get the parts i needed. it went on for years and finally i stopped driving it but also amazon and ebay really started selling more and more parts so i would just order them no one argued then. I would also try to find the youngest kid when i went it cause they knew nothing about a 1957 so they would just listen to me and find my parts.

I tried to do it on my 2004 Sienna for the first time. Couldn't loose the bleeder valve. End up broke it. Its impossible to remove the broken valve. I had to replace the cylinder. I just left the other 3 brakes alone.

Am sure you know that there are LOTS of on line videos and other instructions on how to deal with that common problem.

Yes I tried with torch and other tricks. It just not working for me. The cylinder cost $35 at autozone so I just replace it.

Is this good for Acura & also is this enough for a full flush & refill?
1 Quart for most medium or smaller vehicles will be fine.

Yes. You want to bleed the rear brakes little more than the front, due to the longer lines. But 1 quart per smaller car like that will work.

We use DOT 5 (not DOT 5.1) in everything because it is silicone based and does not absorb moisture that boils off under hard breaking. This also works well for vehicles or whatever stored long term, but cannot be mixed with the other three.

Where do you get/buy the DOT 5 brake fluid? It is not always commonly available in auto parts stores anymore...

Sick. Thx for the info. These road sodas won't last long 😉 🤣

Flushing two truck's brake lines and the brake cleaner makes me smell nice.. plus it even comes with single use hair gel
Brake cleaner is awesome for getting the suntan lotion off your chest after a day at the beach. Cools you down too!
