I've had this subscription for about 18 months. Haven't paid a dime for it. Every time I cancel Panera forwards me an offer to sign up again for free.
I've noticed within the past few months at my local Paneras that when I order a drink they no longer set aside a cup at the takeout counter. I asked about this and they expect that I'll help myself to a cup from the stack next to the drink fountains and choose my own drink.
This seems like a poor model. There's nothing stopping a person from walking into the restaurant and helping themselves to a drink without placing an order, it seems.
I guess the whole premise here is that once you're in the restaurant you'll order something else, or you're likely to order something else when you place the drink order, but for now it seems like it's free drinks for all.
Use ONEMONTH or T27N16 before this offer. It will give you a month free followed by 3 months of this offer. I think that's how it works per the Panera rep

Promo code doesn't work for existing or recently cancelled subscribers. So, can't stack the one month promo and this promotion… I tried it.

I guarantee you can just walk into your local Panera and grab a cup and fill it. The employees don't give a single sh*t, at least at the locations near me.

Same at my location. They just have cups already sitting at the counter and I bet they wouldn't bat an eye if you took a random one. Hell, they don't even care if you fill your cup with what you actually paid for since their lemonades cost more than the sodas and teas.

Yes, Panera must have calculated sales on people who have Sip Club. I saw it somewhere that sales went up after Sip Club was introduced.

No doubt there are thieves. I placed a pickup order for a cookie with my coffee. When I got there somebody took the cookie and left my pickup receipt. I asked and the employee said they left a cookie, but somebody must of taken it.
Does anybody know if there are codes for $X off?
Seems like those $3 ones expired, but that paired so well with the sip club + chicken avocado melt + 20% off gift card.
Different stores have different models for sip club. The one closest to me does NOT have the cups out for anyone to grab. Instead, if you order from sip club, they print a receipt, put it IN the cup (gross, right?), then a server moves it from the kitchen to the TO GO shelves. Sometimes, if I get there too fast, it's still on the pick up counter for the kitchen. I have had several episodes where there's no cup for me anywhere. Maybe it was stolen? I just ask the kitchen guys for a cup and they give me one.
I've been to a couple of other Paneras that do have stacks of the medium and large cups out for folks to grab. Can't believe that model works out in the long run but I guess it must.
All the paneras I went to are in Pennsylvania and they just leave cups out and expect you to self serve. I guarantee you none of them give a F to ask if you actually have the sip club or not.
My local Panera never place a cup by the Pick up area. I got tired of asking every time I went, so now I just take one from the stack by the self serve computers.
(I also saw on few occasions where people walk in with a Panera plastic cup and go straight to the refill machines and walk out. Who knows if they have Sip club or not)
