This stuff legit? Is it easy to apply? I have a black 2008 Infiniti that could use a nice shine but is $97 worth it?

It is legit and easy to apply - took me about 1 hour for a large sedan. Ceramic coating offers protection and adds shine, however it is all about paint preparation - took me about 6 hours to prep with moderate experience with a dual action buffer. YouTube will be your friend for paint prep prior to ceramic coating. Their ceramic booster spray is awesome too.

So I read a lot of mixed feelings about Avalon King. I think it's a fine entry level / DIY ceramic coating. But I don't think it's an amazing deal. You're probably better off getting a bottle of nano bond on Amazon ~$38.

Is nano bond better than Avalon King?

Or you can buy meguiars hybrid paint coating at a retail level, which is less than half the price, completely and utterly dummy proof, and lasts twice as long with the self cleaning properties of a coating. the most overlooked detailing product on the market right now

Avalon King is almost entirely marketing hype. They use car youtubers to pitch it with discount codes. Plenty of independent testing shows it doesnt live up to hype

If you're going to do a long term ceramic coating, you might as well spring for the best of the best, which from experience and research, it's the advanced graphene coating from Adam's Polishes, can last up to 9 years, is responsive to UV lights, easy to apply, and highly durable and hydrophobic. It has better resistance to water spotting than traditional ceramics, and really good hydrophobic properties. It often goes on sale I recommend buying the whole kit if you're going to do it. Prep is everything though, wash, decontaminate, polish, and chemically prep(with an ipa wipe down) the car before you apply if you want the best results.

ScottHD's testing shows it's about the same as some of the other Chinese coatings. It is a legit coating, but there are more durable ones out there. It's honestly not bad for DIY stuff, but $45/ea is high.

Yeah I guess that was what I was getting at. It's not a bad product by any means, but it seems inconsistent and you still get that ceramic shelf life.

I wish more people would try the meguiars! it's so insanely good it really is. the only thing i dont like is that they dont recommend installing it under 60F which is difficult to do in the colder months without a dedicated garage
