Record, view, and save events in your Blink app with a free 30-day trial of the Blink Subscription Plan. Then, subscribe for just $3 per month per camera, or $10 per month for unlimited cameras at a single location
Alternatively:
Save motion clips and photos from up to 10 Blink cameras connected to the Blink Sync Module 2 locally in your home and view them through the Blink app or the computer by plugging in a USB flash drive (sold separately) for no additional fee.
Whatever system you go with, Eufy, Ring, Blink, Acme, etc. block your cams from having access to the internet from your router settings.

The only free recording you get with these cameras is local storage with sync module 2.
Pros:
They use standard non-rechargeable AA lithium batteries. They aren't cheap, but they will last more than a year before replacing unless they are constantly getting tripped.
Good picture.
Lightweight.
Easy to install, as long as you have a surface that can take a couple screws.
Plenty of options (areas of camera set to trigger or not, sensitivity, picture quality, length of clips).
They can alert you IMMEDIATELY when tripped. Ignore reviews saying there are delays with alerts. There is a setting to adjust this.
NO monthly contract/payment required, which I love. Do not believe reviews telling you a sub is required. All you need to do is buy a cheap USB stick.
1 year Warranty, which they do honor.
Cons:
They all connect to a receiver/hub where the USB resides, and we have had occasional issues with it not saving clips, not sending us alerts, etc. It took several weeks for their customer service to help us resolve the issue.
Customer service is hit and miss. They are overseas (likely the Philippines).
You can set times where you want cameras to be active vs. not, but you cannot do it by camera. This is a bit annoying, as I would like certain cameras to be active at certain times.
Wasps love them and will trip them. A LOT.
I purchased a 5 camera system when it went on sale. For me it was on the cheaper side to having surveillance system with local recording.
The cameras claim a 2yr battery life. So far I've had my cameras for 1.5 yrs and have not had to change the battery yet so I'd consider that claim to be accurate.
I initially thought that the sync module was just a way to save videos locally. However the entire system relies on this sync module so if something happens to it or your internet connection then the system is effectively useless. Not a great design IMO.
On the topic of network instability or power instability it doesn't do well with either (meaning recover after these are restored) which will cause the flash drive to be corrupted at which point it will no longer capture new videos.
Support is generally not great. When trying to identify why the system no longer captures videos, support generally advises to just format the flash drive and start over.
Being able to set recording zones is a nice feature but I have a couple of instances where something comes right into the field of view of the camera and yet the camera does not record. There is an option to turn up sensitivity but then there are a lot videos recording nothing relevant e.g. shadows changing.

I would certainly hope that the $200 devices do much better than the (currently) $40 Blink. If price isn't an issue we'd all take the Corvette... And if course, this is Slickdeals. $200 for 5 cameras (plus a freebie) or $1000 for 5 of the Eufys...
Don't get me wrong, I like Eufy in general... but, I'm still also waiting for expandable memory on my Homebase 2. (Actually I gave up awhile ago so it's possible they fixed it.)
