Take TUF Gaming out of the title, that's a more expensive card. Not a great price for their low end model.

Great card, still a reasonable price despite people expecting launch date MSRP.

Not a good price but 'low end model' is subjective/inaccurate. In terms of the 3080s this is the coolest, or near coolest, running card on the market. Runs cooler than the Strix (I've had both). Performance gap of 3-5% is almost negligible so I'd rather have the cooler, quieter card.

That's true, but what you fail to mention is that they are almost all FHR cards which mean they have been mining 24/7 for who knows how long.

There is obviously an inherent risk in buying a mining card. Personally, I would pay the extra for a new card. But if I did get a used card, I would make sure it was LHR which would substantially reduce the chances it was used for mining.

Do you mean the 3070 Dual? Reviews say it runs hotter and louder than most. With only two fans I'd be surprised if it's cooler and quieter than 3-fan cards?

For the 3080s Gigabyte and TUF run 6-8 C cooler than the rest of the pack. So I'm just waiting for the 3080 to become reasonable. They also do really well with minor undervolt. I should stop mentioning it otherwise people will gobble them up!

Correct. Mine rarely broke 60 degrees with a minor undervolt (no noticeable impact on performance). My strix is generally 5 degrees or so warmer which is really weird to me. I know the power draw is higher if you let it go and do it's thing but this is even with a similar undervolt. The TUF cards were really over performing champs this gen

I had several TUF 3070s and 3060 Tis and they were also fantastic. They ran ice cold and whisper quiet, and I also slightly undervolted and clocked them with no meaningful impact on performance. Great cards.

I have the V2 and it's a great little card, I have never been a fan of the triple fan cards myself because they are so obnoxiously large (looking at you Gigabyte) so even though I could have easily afforded a 3090 when I was at microcenter the day I bought my GPU I got the 3070 instead. Great GPU for what I do which is infrequent gaming! 😁

3070FE is going for $499, in stock. Why would I pay $90 more for ~5% difference?

Or, for just 5 bucks more, a 3070Ti.

If you need a card now, by all means grab one. They are half of what they were not long ago. That being said, if you can wait, you would be out of your mind to buy a card now for still more than MSRP, that has been out for years, with the new generations of cards realeasing in a few months.
