Yes, it's DRAMless, but still reportedly has decent performance:

512GB is $40 and should offer slightly better performance than 256GB.

Newegg has the 1TB for $64

Between Amazon and Newegg there are good prices for all 3 sizes.

Maybe put 256gb in the title?

Kind of wish I had a system that has the interface now, but am on older and would need to invest in CPU and ddr4 if I build q desktop.. At what point did these become mainstream?

m.2 nvme ssd started to become mainstream around 2016. Also, DDR4 is on the way out...

Be cautious... lots of really good deals on memorys and SSDs from teamgroup lately. Almost all threads mention reliability issues and how you would be responsible to send it to Taiwan to get the replacement under warranty. I would choose another brand name just for the reliability concerns.

Something to keep in mind...

Well I guess that'll mean cheaper in time. I guess for now maybe if I want a ssd for SATA and dram the Adata Su800 might be the cheapest entry level model.
