One distinction between American and Southwest is the free checked baggage benefit;
With Southwest is unconditionally two free bags.
With American is one conditionally free bag.
The number of bags is not my concern as one bag is almost always sufficient for me but the fine print of the benefit shows that it's conditional.
From AA.com's web site:
"This benefit will not be available for travel on codeshare flights booked with an American Airlines flight number but operated by another airline."
So the cost could actually be $30/passenger's first bag for domestic travel.
I remember getting 5 of these cards or similar AA (visa, mc , amex, personal , business) back in 2010/2011. Received 375,000 miles+ in a few short weeks. Those were the good old days.

Wife and I got over a million miles before AA shut us down and confiscated what was left. Those were the days of free Business class to Europe and free hotels.
