I've looked at other brands, and walked away laughing -- Craftsman, Husky, Hart, etc are flimsy wanna-be boxes. Even some of the DeWalts fall into this bucket too. Thin, cheap plastic, lots of twisting & bending, and the worst of which -- terrible latches. They're not worth it. And they're priced too close to Ridgid to be competitive as a bargain option.
If you aren't a professional contractor hauling around the maximum weight limit of these boxes every single day in adverse conditions -- save your cash and buy Ridgid. Using arbitrary figures -- Ridgid is about 90% of the Milwaukee quality for half the price.
If you're a serious contractor where money isn't an object...when "you absolutely can't have something fail" -- look at Milwaukee. It's a better build quality, but with diminishing returns. They can hold a lot more weight, take a lot more abuse. They exude a premium fit and finish....with quite a few case options to choose from. If I was professional, I'd go with big red and not look back.
But if you're a weekend warrior/homeowner/casual repairer -- big red is spending a premium for something you're probably never going to take advantage of. Ridgid and Milwaukee will hold up equally fine under the same average conditions. Save your cash and buy two oranges instead of one red. Or put that cash into actual tools.
Ridgid is the sweet spot in tool cases right now. And if they're on sale, you can't go wrong.

Or rather, it depends heavily what you plan on putting in it. I am using this for home electrical supplies and tools, which is a bunch of different and mostly bulky cutters, pliers, and wire strippers, so this one works better for me.
Either way the Hart is sold out within 100miles of me and I'm sure you'd be happy with either.
