Did you see the "2 hours run time" on the product details? I see why they're on clearance.

I saw this post and bought them, just got them today. I'm a fan. Very bright, the outer rim is actually metal and they use AAA batteries. Definitely worth it for the price.

It may be this way so it lasts longer, no sense in using disposable batts and having it only last 6hrs

Then they shouldn't have used AAA. 1 AA is about 3 AAA in capacity except a AA cost the same as a AAA. So choosing AAA triples the running cost.

Have a set of these and they are nice lights. The batteries they come with are those super cheap carbon-zinc ones that are only useful for remotes, and do start to dim a bit after 3-4hrs. I tossed in a regular set of rechargeables and get considerably longer run times.

Ok for kids to bash around.

2 hours on high perhaps.

3 AAA's is 4.5 volt so you could probably wire it up to a USB battery pack for longer run time.

Here we go again with the run time bashers. If you actually bought the product and had the experience then you should comment. During a recent power outage- we got 6 hours out of each light. These are great lights for the money. Thanks OP!

Exactly. At $2 each these will be great just to leave to the side with a fresh pack of batteries, ready for the next power outage.

I bought these. They are worth the $2 each. The light fades at around 2 hours on high, but still produces some light. It lasts longer on the low setting. IMO the run time is not the main issue. I have tons of rechargeable AAA batteries. The problem is the screw on the battery cover. It requires a very small phillips screwdriver to open. A standard size phillips will strip the screw. When you are camping or the power is out, and this light dies after a few hours, you don't want to have to find a precision screwdriver in order to change the batteries.

These make perfect tent lights. Just enough light on low to look for and change clothes or prep for getting to bed. One set of batteries has lasted 6 camp outs so far. Probably have a few more left in them
