Because they did not make it for just you. There are other models available with touchscreen, just not available yet. And not having touchscreen in a normal Clamshell Laptop is normal, having a touchscreen is so called "Strange Thing".

Ugh... when I see Win 11 attached to a PC these days... it's such a downgrade in my mind. Not trying to be anti-M$... but I honestly see very little value in that OS when compared to Win 10.

I may or may not agree with you about the attitude part but it's going to be like that to those posts, especially to those thinking their requirements are the absolute for all. you do what you want to do, like downvoting good deals.

You can protect against the uncertainty of that.

Create the cart, and then below the coupon field, there is an option of converting the cart into a quote. It will save your price for about 2 weeks. You can order using that quote anytime during the 2 weeks.
Thanks for the quote idea but the quote price is higher than what's in my cart with coupons? Quote is showing $1388...

Quote corrected on 2nd try Thanks

True but Windows 11 PCs are strapped with that TPM garbage that is causing quite a stir among PC experts. So even if you downgrade... you still got the TPM issue.

Not sure what you're trying to say here. TPM 2.0 is a requirement for Windows 11 and almost all laptops released in last 4-5 years have TPM 2.0. That's why those can be upgraded to Windows 11. Can you elaborate on that or provide some forum links or articles about those issues?

X13 yoga gen(x) is what you want but Intel has likely pressured lenovo to only make those with Intel chips.

These laptops are linux friendly (in fact I think some of them are linux/ubuntu certified)

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is fantastic. Most of the 'apps' we use are in the cloud running in tabs in Chrome/Firefox anyway. I switched 3 months ago and haven't heard my lenovo's fan turn on since

Fair question. Response would be too long for a forum post but this guy explains it pretty well... he goes off topic later in the video but the first 10 minutes covers it for the most part.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcafzHL8iBQ

Richard Stallman article referenced in vid. It's obviously an old article and some of it no longer applies. However, the underlying problem still holds true IF TPM is required. https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/ca...st.en.html

Another article explaining how to bypass TPM Hardware requirements with edits to registry. Is this an acceptable solution... where users have to edit the registry? https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/...quirement/

Another noteworthy blog post. https://davescomputertips.com/the...about-tpm/

Finally, I'm running Windows 10 on an older Asus gaming machine that does not have the hardware implementation of TPM and I'm cool with that. I'm not against running Windows... just not Windows 11. I have a second machine running Mint Linux and like that OS too. Smilie

Surprisingly, they've dropped the price a little more today for the Ryzen 5 model.

It has a clearance coupon applicable to it! Combine it with the BFIJ coupon and you get it a few dollars cheaper

Replace windows 10 with windows 7, windows 7 with xp, xp with 2000, 2000 with NT4, NT4 with NT 3.1. People have been making the same complaints for decades.

Almost guaranteed that Windows 12* will have the same reception. Maybe except for those who threatens to switch to linux, who have been threatening since windows 95.

It's true. People resist change. And, yes, people have complained about nearly every upgrade. I personally loved Windows 2000 though!

To be clear, my main complaint against Windows 11 is NOT the interface/usability changes (although I don't like them either) but rather the way it requires (bypassed only with hacky nerd stuff) TPM.
