2) So I don't know why HP uses DDR4 ram for these 12th generation intel cpus, but can you add DDR5 ram to this motherboard? Not sure if the ddr5 is dependent on the cpu or both the cpu and motherboard.

Both systems in the original post use the same motherboard.
I use 2 sets of these in my system for 32gb and it runs at 3200mhz (max speed for this motherboard)

It says 1.35v tested voltage and 1.2v SPD voltage whatever that means. Can't find anything about JEDEC. This HP Envy looks like a good deal but I was hoping to use the RAM I already have.
