VPN into Argentina youtube and you can have it for under $1.50 a month. Once you start the sub, you can go back to US or whatever native servers you use with no difference in service.

Ive had YT Red/Premium since 2018 and it ABSOLUTELY changes how you use the service. Without the annoying ads, you are more comfortable "grazing" on videos which you normally would not watch. Esp true on the the phone where we have exponentially lower attention span.
I just went the VPN way and it WORKS !!

I used Turkey as is cheapest with the inflation ravaging the country there 70% year over year

HERE ARE THE STEPS:

• Make new Gmail Account, can put fake name, mine is "Catch Not"

• Turn on VNP with location Turkey

• Open Icognito Page in BROWSER

• Navigate to YouTube.com

• Sign in with the new email adress

• Click on the menu of the left, find "YouTube Premium" button

• Monthly is $16.99TRY - about $1 a month, or you can sub yearly and get a discount - $169TRY which is about $10 a year

• Click "Try For Free" button

• Will ask for Credit Card - add your regular credit card, or WHATEVER you want to pay with

• I used my every day credit card, and entered my actual name there (or it wont go thru obviously)

• Enter your Expiration Date and 3 digit code from the back of the card

• DO NOT ENTER BILLING ADRESS !!

• It did NOT ask me to put a residential adress on anywhere either.

• Just press pay, and enjoy YouTube Premium for less than $1 a month, and trust me, with the inflation will only get CHEAPER from now on!

Read somewhere that Google shut down YT Vanced.
Yea they need to stop developing it and all but the app still exist and will keep working until YT changes their API and all and that can be years.

YouTube offers me 3-months of Premium every week or so, and I always turn it down because I don't want to pay the $12/month after that. After reading through all the comments, I saw one guy got it for pennies by pretending to be in Argentina. After over an hour of figuring out how to do this without setting off any red flags, I finally got through it. Here are my exact steps to save you all some time:

1. On a desktop (not mobile), VPN to Argentina. I used PIA. VPN on the phone did nothing.

2. Open a private/incognito browser of your choice and go to youtube.com. I used Chrome.

3. Click the "Premium" menu item on the left menu.

4. They offered me 1 month free, with 119 Argentine Peso's every month after that. That converts to $0.94 per month. At that price, I don't care about an extra 2 free months.

5. I setup a brand new gmail account for my new youtube premium account.

6. It asked for a cell phone number to verify who I am. It defaulted to an Argentina country code, so I tried several virtual Argentina cell phones and failed -- many times. Then, I tried a fake US number via TextNow -- and failed again. Finally I gave in and used my personal cell phone -- and it worked. So just use a real cell phone number. Apparently Google doesn't care.

7. Then I needed a billing credit card. Privacy.com isn't supposed to have any foreign transaction fees, so I used a privacy.com virtual card, went to Google Maps, and picked a random house in the middle of Buenos Aires. I started typing in the street name, and Google "guessed" the address. I just said OK. Apparently, I live there now instead of America.

8. Google seems to have approved everything, so I have Premium at less than $1 per month now.

9. I went to my iPad, signed out of my normal account, and signed into my new one. Zero issues.

10. Downloaded a few Sesame Street videos for my kids to watch on the road trip I'm taking in 3 days. Disconnected from Wi-Fi, and played them back with no problems.

So I guess I'll see what happens once my free month is up. If the privacy.com card is hit for $1 or less, I'll keep this thing forever.

Good luck!

I did the same, tunneled into Argentina VPN, then checked for YouTube premium family account, it shows as $22.99/month.

What am I doing wrong?
Sounds like it didn't actually work? Try TunnelBear instead, free account worked for me.

I've read many creating a new account in fear of being banned, while others do it because this workaround cannot be done if they had a previous subscription. Did you use a new account because of the ban issue? If yes, have you read actual examples of people getting banned?

Regarding privacy.com, it allows you to specify a billing location when creating a virtual card, or does it simply not care?

Thanks.

I did a 1 month trial before of YT premium and they charged me $17 for it. Couldn't contact anyone about it to get it fixed. Disputed it but that failed. I was only 2 weeks into the sub but by disputing it, they cancelled the sub that I basically paid for. Total rip.

took me 15 min. to set up the whole thing..

seems like google (youtube) is going to keep adding more and more annoying ads to videos in an effort to push their paid service.

that is something I'll never purchase.

The only subscription worth paying for. I still don't know why people bother with spotify feel free to clue me in. Once you go ad free for YouTube you won't go back
That's what I hear and also what I fear.
After trial period I could never go back to ads and who knows how high fee can go.
I'm a big fan/user of YT.
