I believe OP made mistake with the math. This works out to $175.

Also keep in mind since this is sold by Anker there is a return shipping fee as well as a restocking fee if the product sucks or you're unhappy with it. This according to their return policy on Newegg.

From the policy

1. An RMA number must be requested within thirty (30) calendar days of the delivery date. Shipping charge is the cost of us sending the product to you and will not be refunded. No restocking fee will be applied on return for DOA/Defective and shipping damaged product.

3. Customer is responsible for return shipping expenses unless otherwise explicitly states on the product. Replacements will be shipped at our expense.
I'd wait for the one with a doorbell/fingerprint/code lock with a 2k camera built-in although I wish it had a bottom camera for packages like their 2 camera doorbell.

That was the old version that requires wifi bridge which you have to buy separately.
Newegg deal is better.
I purchased this for 199 at Costco

Is the fingerprint reader really worth it over the keypad ones you can unlock with your phone or have prices gone up recently for smart locks?

Yes, that's basically the big selling point for this. Think of it like your phone. Would you rather type in your password everytime or use fingerprint/faceid? I'm pretty sure most prefer the latter because of the convenience and time saved over time.

I've had this for 2 years now, and only used the keypad like twice and no major complaints otherwise. Very convenient since we have a dog and don't have to remember to carry our keys when going for a walk. The door bolt does jam sometimes when it autolocks if the door isn't aligned all the way but even if that happens, it doesn't prevent from unlocking the door if I need to. It's a well build device imo.

That being said, get it from Costco or Amazon as other have said. Ive seen it go as low as $170 in Costco.

There's no resistance from the deadbolt. But it does get used pretty regularly like at least 5 times a day. Does turning off the fingerprint scanner or notifications effect the battery life by a lot? Maybe the locking unit is defective and draining the battery.

I use only the fingerprint scanner and use mine about 10x a day... You may have a defective unit. do all the firmware updates and if that doesn't help, I'd get then y to replace it.

This is not compatible with home assistant and I wanted to return it from the last time this was a deal and they told me shipping would cost under $60. So I'm stuck with it but I would really look into getting another smart lock. It works fine but I wanted the home assistant compatibility. Apparently wifi versions don't work but the Bluetooth one might work with the hacs mod for eufy products

Great lock. Picked up on Black Friday Deal from Costco for $170 (does not need Wi-Fi bridge).

Only needed to charge once since install early 2022, gets an average of 5-10 unlock/lock cycles per day - have the auto lock feature disabled.

My first gen august smart lock jammed on me, and it just was a pain to work for the kids.. so I got this one instead, and so far it has been working very well.. it doesn't have the geo-fencing feature where it Auto Unlock's when you come home like the august, but that never worked for me properly. The kids love the fingerprint scanner and the wife is happy as well.

Bought this from the last sale. Everything works but battery lasts about 4 days. Got a replacement battery from warranty and also lasts about 4 days. Anyone else having this issue. Will contact warranty one more time before shipping it back.
Contact them for a firmware update.

I've got one new open box as well. Been too lazy to put it on eBay. I have one installed and I'm really happy with it, no issues, battery lasts me about 4 months between charges. I've had the manual latch feel a little "crunchy" but it's never gotten stuck and the motor is smooth. Fingerprint sensor works really well for me. (DM if you want to take my spare)
I've had 3 that were crunchy or started jamming. They'll all eventually do it. I'm on my 4th now.

Hopefully they'll send me one that isn't defective out of the box.

It's an issue with shoddy materials and engineering. The gears should have been made of steel and not pot metal.

This product has been delayed twice, it was supposed to be released in May 2022. Eufy sent communication indicating it was pushed out to July and then another communication couple of days back indicating that it has been delayed till October 2022 as of now.

Recently bought the other model which has a wifi bridge, for $150. How does this one compare against the inbuilt wifi model ?

I've had the August since inception - mind sharing why you like this better?

I have Lockly (also a fingerprint reader) the reason I wanted that is because of kids and not wanting to use my phone constantly.

Fwiw I bought one and returned it because I found the lock to get really tight sometimes with the manual function. Concerned this would be issue in case if emergency. Some Amz reviews had similar experience. I went with a Yale

Have 3 of these installed. Used it manually for a while before I had WiFi to get it set up with the smart and electronic functions. Everything worked great when used manually. Smooth locking and unlocking. After using the smart functions, I noticed some stiffness when trying to lock/unlock manually. It's as if the motor doesn't know I'm trying to manually use the lock and it's giving electrical resistance. Nothing you can't just twist a little harder to make it lock/unlock, but it seems like a software issue to me.

Everything else works great. Fingerprint reader is fast. Key slot is nicely covered with a magnetic plate. Notifications come through very quickly. Rechargable battery has been wonderful. App is easy to use
