EVGA has downsize in the past two years. EVGA quit selling graphic cards and motherboards. EVGA CEO is barely keeping the lights on and reduce staff to skeleton crew. I think will be lucky if EVGA is still around in 2 years due to no real demand for any product they sell now.

Correction: EVGA used to be great. They are now on their way out and do not count on warranty support. Just search up recent complaints with EVGA warranty.

Not a good price for a product from a company that is likely to be out of business sooner or later. You can get 850 watt Gold ATX 3.0 PSUs that are highly rated from companies that are far more likely to stay in business for almost the same price. Not sure why this PSU keeps getting promoted over and over.

This natively supported the 12 pin that all 4080s use. You will be able to power a 4080 with the psu. Although, I would recommend something like the Thermaltake AF3, Seasonic Focus GX v3, be quiet! Pure Power 12 M, or MSI A850GL as evga now lags behind in warranty, and their newer power supplies do not have many reviews. They may not even be around in the near future if you need warranty - whereas the other power supplies have longer warranties and actual reviews.

Does anyone know how/if one can power an Nvidia RTX 4080 with this PSU, since (IIRC) it takes 3 separate 8 pin powercords from the PSU to properly supply power to the card? Yes, I see the outlet on the unit that would supply GPU power, but how and whether that translates into 3 8pin cords isn't clear. Thanks in advance.

It is fully modular, the rail should have 3 spots for the gpu.

EVGA is great. Probably the best. I'd recommend this. Note sure about 4090ti but should be fine for most 95% of overclockers/high performance systems.

As much as I used to love EVGA products, they will soon go bankrupt and will not support their products. Buy from another brand since these are re-branded PSU"s anyway.

Yeah. Damn shame to see them go, my current build is running off of one of their 1000W Platinum units and it's silent, efficient, and has enough headroom to run my PC twice. Sadly, I can't really see a reason to buy from them anymore, I don't trust they'll be selling PSUs in 5 years, much less 10. Rather go for a Cooler Master or Corsair now.

Still one of the strangest abrupt failures of a well respected and high selling brand in recent memory. EVGA was my go-to for GPUs for decades and I paid more for their products willingly for the guaranteed trouble free PC experience. What the heck really happened over at EVGA???

Several theories, the primary one being that the owner had been looking to retire for a while now and didn't want to sell the brand. Factors pushing this timing include getting out before all the mining GPUs start getting RMA'd.

I called their support the other day to ask a question about one of my gaming PCs. Support at EVGA was excellent - discussed my components and stated my hardware falls well within what their 650W PSU can handle. I was debating an upgrade to an 850W, but they were excellent on the phone. Both of my gaming PCs have an EVGA Power Supply. My 7800X3D PC with a 6950XT GPU is running a 1000W EVGA PSU. My other gaming PC was recently upgraded with a 5700X3D and a 6700XT is running a 650W EVGA PSU.

EVGA used to be the GOAT in the PC industry. Really tragic to see it die this way. I always had a visceral connection to EVGA. you'll be missed.

They didn't want to deal with Nvidia anymore. Profit margins are slim on their GPUs these days, especially now that Nvidia makes their own Founders Edition cards which is a big FU to board partners.
