I have two of these. I can't figure out what they do. I got them to turn on after my alarm goes off, but now they turn on after EVERY alarm goes off. kinda useless if you ask me.
We use them on a timer to let our kids know when they can get out of bed. It'll be red all night and then we have it on a schedule to turn green at some time in the morning and the kids know they can get out of their rooms.

If you buy this bundled with the kids edition of the echo dots (on sale for $25), the price is $11.
I haven't used this and it doesn't have any smart home functionality, but from what I read, you can have it change colors with alarms. So maybe set a wake up alarm with volume of zero (on the dot) and have it gradually get brighter throughout.
Yeah, not really sure what to do with it other than it being a programmable light. My nephew needs a night light anyways, hoping the bundle gift will be appreciated.
You could probably think of some fun uses using ifttt. A really simple one might be a market indicator. Leave it green on up days , red on down. May be a bit on the nose but I could think of a few uses via ifttt…all of them less than stellar but at least something.

Do you get both for $11 ? I don't see any discount when they're both in my car

I thought of another use which is also kind of silly. You could use a motion sensor stuck to the inside of the back of the mailbox if it reaches the signal that far. And then make it display a blue light when your mail box gets opened.
Got this for Childs room night light. It did not work well at all lost connection constantly. Coming from someone who has a lot of amazon sticks and echos.
Like others I have them to let my kids know when it's time to wake up, they typically sleep through the change of light or ignore it and leave before it. I don't like that there is no way for them to change the colors on their own. We spent this when we bought them and it's worth it but not sure what the hell else you'd do with them besides mood lighting

Red for bedtime
Yellow for almost wake up
Green for wakeup
Have 2, no wifi issues at all
Have not messed with them in HA, but assume more to do there
They are sensitive for the tap, I recommend tirning that off
