Ryzen is the 3580u which is 3+ years old.

I think people are trying to pull a sneaky by just listing a processor type and not the model number… Catching people that are sleeping.

ie: look at this rad laptop with i7 and nvidia gpu!

Could be an i7-740qm and an nvidia 425m (w/1GB of ddr3… not ever gddr3) from like 12 years ago…
Yes does Win 11.

I bought the 13.5" version of this, actually had issue with first one making high pitched fan noise. Did warranty swap with Microsoft and new one is good. Yeah, older processor and 8gb of ram but if not a power user you're getting extremely nice build quality and good high res display at cheap price. I'd recommend it for secondary computer or someone with simple needs. This was $1100 2 years ago so at $369 now I think is a good deal.
I bough this last week and it arrived a couple days ago. It's surprising how much larger the screen feels than the 13.5 version. This is replacing an Acer Swift 3 from 2 years ago that has a supposedly newer and better i7 processor. Cinebench scored 940 for single-core and 3800 for multi-core for the SL3. The Acer scored 1080 and 3300. The bigger screen and better build quality on the SL3 easily wins out between the two. Totally worth it to buy this instead of paying 3-4 times more for a new 15" SL4.

Battery appears to be new. Look out for LED bleed though. Not as bad as the Acer had, but there still is some on the bottom edge of the SL3. Comes with a 1 year Microsoft warranty, then a year after of the All-State one.

Says it includes a 2 year warranty through Allstate on EBay. Newegg link says it has a 1 year parts/labor warranty.

I'm not a power user by any means but would like a capable device should the need arise to use this for Microsoft office, email, and maybe some sound analysis programs (not sure what they will require by way of specs but I doubt much). If anyone who is more tech savvy would be willing to offer any experienced/educated opinions on how good of a deal they feel this is, I would appreciate the help.

Good catch. I find this to also be typical MS marketing tactics, also similar to Apple. Its the "2021" model with a 3 year old processor….

I was debating between this and the refurb 17 inch HP laptopwith i5 11th gen, 12 gb ram and dated 1TB HDD. Went with that and picked up an nvme for 30 bucks to plug into it.
that machine, while not as sexy as a surface laptop, should be more future proof, and its battery would be upgradable, whereas with the surface laptop, I hear that changing battery is harder. But these are awesome looking and feeling machines - so I was torn and it was a tough decision to make.
Plus plugging in the NVME is a bunch of work too!

The battery is glued on so you throw out the laptop when the battery dies.
