I clicked the link that says 25% off with trade in. I selected my old echo dot 3rd gen which says $5 for the trade in. I proceeded to checkout and the total was $16.xx after trade.

Not sure how it's working for others. For me, it clearly said this.

Definitely not instant. I tried adding it to cart only after submitting the trade-in.

Dunno how bad you want it; for me it offered two locations in the area I could take it that would check it in and issue the credit right then. I don't need another show bad enough to bother but $25 would be worth a 30 minute errand if I did.

I have a lot of echo dots that didn't show up but I took the only two items it listed. Barely able to make sense of it so just submitted my Echo and had enough credits to cover this bundle. Some dumb luck perhaps.

Mine shows $70 for echo show 8, trading echo dot Gen 2 with $5. Don't see how you can get it down to $25 even with 25%.

as part of the trade-in would we need to send in the adapter and cord also? I could not find any instructions on that.

If it gives you the discount instantly with your trade in, it takes 25% off the regular price, which is much more than 25% off the sale price. Not sure which link you're using, but I'm talking about the 1st gen echo show 8 bundled with the blink - you want the higher price bundle, as that full price amounts to a larger discount with the 25% off the full price.

I've now tried:

1. Main amazon account.
2. Register new one with prime trial, deregister echo and register on new account, no luck.
3. Deregister another echo, same thing.
4. Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari.
5. Trade in button on various Echo devices to see if the product I was trying to purchase mattered.

Still can't get anything but delayed credit.

What's the trick to getting the 25% off to apply? I got the instant credit and the $5 gc for the echo show but the total for this bundle is still $44.99 and not $10-$15 that others are getting.
