I clicked the link that says 25% off with trade in. I selected my old echo dot 3rd gen which says $5 for the trade in. I proceeded to checkout and the total was $16.xx after trade.

it worked for me 11 after tax, traded echo dot 3rd gen...
just do the trade first then buy the echo show, you will see the discounts at checkout...

What happen if I buy and then cancel trade in request?

Will they revoke both the instant $5 and the 25% off? Or will they just revoke the $5?

Same for me. Worked for the Show 5 with Blink Mini but when I tried on the Show 8 with mini it didn't apply the 25% off or the $5 trade in.

It's YMMV. I just depends on how Amazon rates your account. Because they're essentially giving you the money immediately and shipping you a new item in 2 days, trusting that you are going to send in a trade-in that's in good shape.

They got scammed in the past years by scumbags who just took the discount and the electronics and sent in junk or nothing in at all.

I would have purchased two if the trade discount was instant, sadly it was not. I have done at least four trades before and all went perfectly, yet they still don't trust me enough for instant credit I guess? 7 year prime member too, audible member, use ring and so on. Still no love.

I traded in an echo show 5 first gen and got $30 gift card. (I only paid $25 for it on woot!) Got this deal and made $15 on the upgrade and got the cam!
