The new paperwhite is almost as good as the oasis. I have one for my son so I can easily compare. The main benefit of the oasis for me is the light weight and physical buttons which make it easier to hold with one hand. It also rotates page orientation just by flipping it so you can switch hands easily... again the battery isn't as good as Paperwhite so if the physical buttons aren't a priority (non-negotiable for me...I hate swiping on a reader) you are better off sticking with a Paperwhite...also the lighting looks a bit better than my last model of Paperwhite but the new one is pretty comparable.

The Oasis came out in 2019. It's due to be replaced since the 2021 Paperwhite has some better features and cost less. I'd hold off on an Oasis purchase.

Can you explain what's so much better about the Oasis than the Paperwhite? Everyone says it's great but I can't imagine anything my Paperwhite can't already do

Good deal for the oasis... It'll be my second gen 10 one. The best reader ever (even with the crappier battery life and micro USB charger)...Paid $140 for the oasis with premium leather cover and power adapter by getting an additional %20 of by trading in an old Kindle Paperwhite a few generations back.

Edited....it was actually $160 after the trade in including tax and reduction from a $5 gift card for the trade in....I was accidentally counting my points but still a great deal.

This article sums it up pretty accurately as well. The ergonomics are the key.

Better ergonomics, lighting is better, dark mode is very good, I like the feel of the buttons much better than any other model, it is the best overall experience for reading books, especially the size and shape.

I have Kobo forma, Kobo aura one as well. Used to have Kindle voyage and Paperwhite 2 and 3. Do not have the recent Paperwhite, but demoed them in bestbuy ( which will not give a good use case comparison on some things).

Is the Kindle Kids better deal at $49.99? You get a colorful case and 2 years warranty, and no ads

I can't justify the price of the oasis even with the discount. My Paperwhite Signature edition is just awesome. I don't miss the physical buttons at all. Plus USB C is a game changer. Only my iPhone is missing USB C …all my other devices have it.

With trade in, the kindle bundle came out to $36. I received 20% off plus $15 for a 6 year old 8th gen kindle. FYI.

I agree with you - battery life is much better as well versus the Oasis. I can actually leave Wi-Fi on instead of having to put oasis in airplane mode to save battery.
