I never though I had mobility issues until I tried getting out of one of these chairs in soft sand several times a day. It's a great way to look drunk when you're sober Wink

But they do fold up really small. I just don't get the allure vs larger and more practical height chairs.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm perfectly fine in my camping chair on the beach. Also the form factor of a camping chair is a lot easier to pack up and transport. Also also they have all sorts of different levels of camping chairs including some for $6. I've never seen a $6 beach chair. They're so low and hard to get out of I just don't get them.

​The beach chairs all have backpack straps, I do not feel they are difficult to pack up but they are definitely easier to transport and allow you to carry other things. They are also high backed with pillows that support your neck and head. And while I do usually feel drunk getting out of them (and probably am) I actually prefer the lower seating position on the beach. They also allow those behind you to see over you more easily, which is why they are called spectator chairs on Macy's. If you ever go to outdoor concerts where you can bring your own chairs they are required to be low like this. If you are more comfortable in a regular camping chair by all means, but there are a lot of pros and they are IMO much more comfortable than a regular camping chair.

The other reason they're low to the ground is because of the option to lay them flat, e.g. use of the headrest. We go to the beach multiple times per year, including every year with a large group, and all of the younger ladies/girls want the lower chair so that they can lay flat on their front or back for tanning.

One from Walmart actually has better straps, a pouch under the seat, and has 250lbs weight limit. This one has 225lbs weight limit but has mesh and better colors.
