Amazing little stick, got it around 2 years ago for the same price.

Only gripe I have is that it has an issue with the remote not working, I thought it was burning through triple A's at a high rate and probably changed the batteries once a month, but it turns out to be a connection issue, if you reboot the roku it will reconnect. I just learned this recently... so I wasted a lot of AAAs.

It travels a lot easier. We take ours on the road and plug it into our hotel room TV. As long as the hotels wifi is good, it works great. Even use it at our timeshare in Cabo San Lucas, MX.

No. Your Roku TV essentially has one of these built inside of it.

So you have to reboot every time you turn on your tv? I ended switching to rechargeable batteries due to the battery use.

Best Buy via eBay allows payment via Paypal. Discover card members are eligible for 5% cashback when using paypal this quarter. Nice find OP. Worth the upgrade from their older models for the improved wifi and especially for the TV control functions which are built into the remote. With other models the Roku can query the TV over HDMI and auto detect the setup of the TV buttons on the Roku's remote. I'd expect this model can do that trick too. It's pretty slick and makes initial setup very painless. Applause

No, different OS. You'll have to buy an Android based steamer like Chromecast or Fire Stick.

Roku is android based, but is completely locked down. You can't do any sideloading or customization with it. Think of it like an apple device. It runs very well.

It's no different except for the remote. I have a TCL 4K Roku TV and the remote is IR vs the Roku 4K streaming stick which is RF. TV remote I have to point directly at the screen for it to register while the streaming stick I can point anywhere and it will work.

I believe the IR remotes on the Roku doesn't have a pair button under the battery cover while the RF does. It's a small difference but it's something that annoys me when I'm trying to change the volume quickly when a call comes in.

My Capital One card has 5% cash back credit if bought through their link directly from the Roku store, so that's another option to save some dimes if you don't have discover. It takes a month to get the money, but it comes

Home Depot through Capital One has 3% back, so maybe there's a slick deal with HD membership? IDK
