I saw in my google play points screen that there were now some apps listed where you earn a small amount of points for installing selected apps. The only stipulation is that you keep them installed for a day. It took all of 10 seconds to click and install all of them.
Normally play points by themselves are not that great, however, I
recently found out that you can convert 100 play points into $1 of google play credit, which is much more useful.

I only had 5 apps worth 5 points each. so it's gonna take 4 days to get 100 points.
