Costco warehouse locations have this collapsible crate on sale for $7.99. I think normal Costco price is $10, so not a huge savings there, but these seem to cost a lot more everywhere else. I picked one up and they're very solid. Thru July 24th

I give these a solid meh. I bought 4, 4 years ago. Only one remains, and it's on its way out. The construction is ENTIRELY plastic including hinges, which is where these fail. I e had them fail full of groceries, and not a dozen hagallons of milk either. You can only snap them back together so many times until the plastic deforms too much.
I bought a "Big Ant" version of the same thing from Amazon some time ago - yes more expensive but much larger and FAR sturdier.
I did see this deal in store today and passed given my experience. I suggest to stay away unless you only have really light, infrequent use.

The hinged area snapped off after I lifted the fully opened crate. All I did was trying to hold a gallon of milk. When I was in line returning the crate, the gentleman in front of me had the side wall hinge of his crate ripped apart.

My experience has been completely different.we have also had ours for 4+ years and I keep one in each vehicle to carry groceries and one in the pantry to cycle in more groceries for big hauls. and we use another as an extra hamper when necessary. All of ours are still intact. They really are great and if they last just a year they are still worth their weight in gold.
These do not hold real weight. The bottom does not have adequate support. These are much weaker than milk crates.
I used them for moving stuff, not storage. Since they fold up, does not take up much room. They stack nicely so can put three or four on a moving cart. I like them with builder's carts as, when stacked, they provide a nice height for pushing. The weak bottoms is usally not an issue when stacked and for such short-term use.
At $8/each, unless one needs the fold feature, not worth it.
Great crate. Bought it from Costco for $3 last year. Use it at the back of the minivan for groceries from Costco.
I guess inflation!!
I saw it at Costco yesterday and could not believe the price increase

Instacrates are awesome! I use it to transport take-out and bring them with me when I go shopping in the store for groceries, especially since plastic bags are now banned in our state and paper bags are charged per bag (Hawaii).

Completely agree.
I have been using these crates for shopping at Costco for years. None of them breaks so far.
I recently moved to a state that bans free plastic grocery bags. The reusable bags are typically made of recycled plastics that smell so bad themselves. The easiest way for me is to load all groceries to shopping cart directly after checking out, then load to the crates in my trunk.
