Reviews on target and Amazon look pretty rough. Tons saying it stopped working after a few months, and that the sides get extremely hot compared to other toasters.

Owned this for >5 years. Wife bought it from Target when we moved to our new home back in 2016. Works like a champ all these years. One of the sides had an issue crop up recently (about a month ago) with the lever not staying down when actuated. I took it apart, cleared/cleaned the contact points from crumbs and build up. Now it is working perfectly again!

Yeah, at this price I would expect the insulation on the sides is not top notch. Four slice toasters of this style are rarely under $30.

This toaster is still available to order at Amazon, now ships in 1 -2 weeks. Also still available at Target as a one-day-only deal (for today). I think this is a slick price for a four-slice toaster.

The real question is does the bagel setting toast one side of the bagel, or does it do like a lot I've seen where it just adds some extra time because bagels are bigger.

I think I bought one of these a couple years ago and it didn't survive a year. I went on Amazon and got some Chinese brand I've never heard of and it's been working ever since. That says something when the rando Chinese brand is better than black and decker lol

Yeah, the Mitsubishi Electric bread oven is a bit better. Sustains moisture better.
