I know plenty of people who had mice/keyboards replaced, they just had to send in a picture of the cut cable.
Razer products can definitely be lemons / die quickly, but I have never had an issue with their customer support.

After my laptop died (wouldn't power on) they made me jump through worthless hoops and dragged it out.
I eventfully sent it in to them, they sent it back a month or two later, same issue within two weeks.
Back to the hoops. Had to go though everything again even though it was obviously the same issue.
I won't be buying another laptop from them.
I'll still get the mice and keyboards when there is a really good deal but I'll consider them disposable.
If you have bigger hands or use fingertip grip or palm grip, you might not want to waste your money here.
Ps. For small mouse, the viper mini feels better than this. The Viper mini is about $24 on Amazon
