Gen2 has higher resolution camera with some degree of autotracking, privacy switch, adaptive color temperature, but no 3.5mm audio output. Basically, it is mainly with improved camera for video call.

It makes sense that your account won't get more instant rebates like this, but there must be more to it as new accounts are not eligible for it either. Somehow they have criteria to determine their 'level of trust'.

Anyone have any idea if they're going to care about whether or not you return the cable+adapter?

Instructions doesn't say anything about the cable.

Pretty sure the one I use to power my echo dot is not the original one. Not sure how picky they'll be.

I was able to get the bundle for -$3.92.
They gave me the 25% off the full price making it $16.08 after tax and I got the $20 gift card for trade in right away to use. Woo hoo!

I'm not getting the instant 25% off-they just said they're sending a label for returning it.
Do I get $5 trade in for 2nd get Dot plus 25% credit? Is that applied towards future purchases? I share my prime account w/my kids-so would it just ask to apply to next purchase? I'd like to do it but its So confusing...

I instantly received the 25% discount (because I made use of the trade-in offer) and also a $5 gift card (value of the trade-in device). I was told that if I don't send in the device, they'd take the $5 back.

I finally got my email for trade-in credit a day after Prime Days, after mailing in my Echo Dot. The Echo Show 8 1st Gen is now $65 (vs. $55 yesterday), but the 25% credit for trade-in is now applying against the $65 price, not the $109.99 original price. Did they fix the glitch or will it come back for the next Echo deals?

got it thanks man

so i did realize that the 25% discount only works once per account too

so if you have a second users account or friend they can use the trade in for the 25% discount

I contacted with customer service last night by chat, she told me that Amazon will charge back the 25% off discount. Buy she did mention to me that once that happens, contact them again and they will make a refund. And she said she made notes on my account.

I got the Echo 8 and blink mini package, sent my old echo dot for the 5$ credit and the 25% off - once they receive the old echo dot. Promptly sent it in and they gave me my 5$ credit, but no the 25% off. I had to spend the last 25 minutes on chat trying to get that promised 25% off. The CS said it was because I bought the Bundle with the mini and they won't give the 25% off bundle packages.... Luckily I took screen shots and it doesn't say that anywhere and I emailed it to them.

They backed down and gave me 25% off the List price of the Echo 8, which was 109$

So just an FYI. Kind of sucky on Amazons part.

You might have traded another echo previously. the 25% is only once per account
