The software (or hardware I can't tell) is utter garbage (the WiFi keeps giving me a authentication error and I have to reset all the time). The OS is laggy (not sure if it is the hardware or Android TV).

These things are cheap for a reason...great for a guest room or something....
Sounds like you got a lemon. I have 4 TCLs and have never had any of these issues. Two of mine are 4 series, 1 is a 5 series, and 1 is a 6.

Well... it depends on the series. I am guessing that you bought the 3-series.

Hows 720 these days? I need something above my treadmill which will be maybe 2 feet from my face. I stare at 4K screens for work and play, is this going to bother me picture wise watching YouTube or Netflix an hour almost every day? I am picky about my displays too, would have to hang it and return it but price is good. Amazon had Insignia same spec and price other day too.

Over the years, several times, I have read here on SD that 720 is just fine & dandy on a 32" set. Good deal for some folks. Repped.

I grabbed a bunch of the Android versions of this 32" TCL when my local Wally was clearing them out for $55.00. Decent TV for the price and the picture quality is more than acceptable for a sub $100.00 TV.

This seems to be the new everyday price at Walmart for this TV. Been at $99 for a while.

720p 32" should be on sale for $9, not $99.

TCL is the grand daddy of the Roku tv brands out there. But it's possible to get a bad one. The difference is other brands are even worse when it comes to Roku TVs.I have two 4k Roku TVs, tcl and sharp and a 1080p hisense Roku. And the Hisense has some issues but it's a software issue I believe but no issues with the tcl or sharp.

But for this tv, they really need to stop selling 720p models. They really need to be 1080p

Get a life... 720p is fine in a 32", especially if viewed from more than 3 feet away! Had a friend that insisted that all of his TV's had to be 4k and that the picture was AWESOME, then was quite upset when I told him that ever source he had hooked up to them (directv tuners, bluray, older roku) were all 1080p at best.

While definitely worth more than $9, 32" is a good size to double as a monitor when at least 1080p.
