With a single hose, you are blowing exhaust air out of the house. Guess what? Air MUST come back in. You can't live in a vacuum, LOL. So hot air from outside comes in around your door, down your chimney... wherever it can most easily come back in.

Basically, you create a cool zone around the machine itself, but the overall temperature of your total living space isn't really going down. Arguably, it could be going up, because you have a hot machine inside yourself, plus displaced air being sucked in from outside.

The tech data in the Hisense website says water is evaporated and sent out thru the hoses.

Thanks for that info and confirmed with Costco CS:
This item is part of our "100% satisfaction guarantee". So there isnt a timeframe for returns/exchanges, and if you have any issues, all you have to do is reach out to us and we will help work with the vendor on trying to get replacement parts or anything else.

Anyone have experience with this smart controller [amazon.com]? Seeing as how this unit doesn't seem to include smart features, which honestly I think I need but definitely want, seems like a pretty handy device albeit a tad pricey.

I had one of the single exhaust hose models that looked exactly like this and it was a beast! Thinking of getting this just for hurricane/ power outage use.

Thanks bought 2. Hoping this is a slick deal. Interesting I couldn't locate warranty info on Costco and was directed to customer service which I'm currently 174th in chat queue... Also going to ask about an extended warranty. Assume this product falls under Costco's Risk-Free 100% Satisfaction Guarantee as it is not specifically noted as an exception. Thanks for posting.

Costco doesn't have return limits on portable ac. The warranty is as long as you own it.

Thumbs up. I bought the Danby from a deal I posed on SD last week (I think it was $120 off), but this actually might have been a better deal and purchase overall. My Danby should be arriving today .. we shall see..

If I did not get the Woot refurb Toshiba (2x) a few weeks ago I would be all over this dual hose at $350.

I was just at Lowes and they were selling the smaller versions of these (200-400sq ft). The 200 sf version was $329.

How did you guys manage the water from condensation? We got the De Longhi and it produced a ton of water from the condenser.

My Toshiba from Woot came broken, I'm contemplating whether I should get it's replacement or just return it and get this one instead. Any advise on which one is better? Toshiba lists noise level @ 42dB and this one doesn't refer noise levels and just says "quiet".

This is a steal for a cooling and heating unit. The additional warranty is a plus. Thanks OP

50-53 dB(A) from the manufactures website.

Interestingly the tech specs on the manufacturers we site says this is a 10000btu, I thought that was more close to cooling a smaller space than the 700 they claim.
