Better than the string trimmer wheeled edger?

Can I plug this into a 18V ryobi battery and inverter?

No on the inverter. The Ryobi inverter is only rated for 150 watts. This edger requires 10X that power.

EGO is also 150 watts. Your best bet it to search around for an 1800-2000 watt power station or a generator. Those will be able to provide the power you need.
