the product says 'white A19'. Philips White A19 are locked to 2700K color temperature. 2700K is very very warm. It will appear quite yellow. Ideally you want closer to 2900-3000K which will be slightly cooler and brighter (appearing).
Philips White Ambience are the bulbs that you can adjust between 2700K and 5000K. 2700K is very yellow and 5000K is very cool and white/blue. 5000K is the color temp you see from fluorescent bulbs. Because the White Ambience line adjusts from 2700K-5000K using the apps, they are more expensive than the 2700K-locked (White). Philips White A19 are their cheapest bulbs because they only offer 2700K temp and no color adjustments.
Google 'light bulb color temperature' and look at the images to get yourself an idea of the appearance of the light based on the different color temps. Some bulbs are even lower temps like 2100 for Edison-style which are designed to give that really warm look, and can be used without a lamp shade because they're so warm in color temperature.
Looks like Amazon splits up the price on check out... Anyone know if you can hack these Amazon deals like at home depot? (ie return part of the bundle for a partial refund)

Watch out, the 800 lumen are too weak. I will never buy more of those. Replaced most with the newer 1600 lumen…still not as bright as should be but the 800s are like an old oil lamp.

This is factually incorrect. If it says 1600 lumens it's 1600 lumens. If it says 800, it's 800. Luminosity is a measurement of light energy, it's mathematical fact. What you are erroneously thinking is that the brightness is false but what's confusing you is that the color temperature changes the perceived brightness to humans. If you turn the temperature to 2700K it will look no where near as bright as 5000K.

Yes color temperature definitely makes a difference too. Look all I know is the "high lumen" 1600 of this white bulb are in fact a lot brighter than these 800. Like…night and day. I don't even know the temperature—these are not tunable or adjustable. Those bulbs do exist.

I'm going to try this as I only want the switch, if not then I'll return the whole set and just buy a 2-pack from Costco and figure out something to do with the 2nd one.

If the Br30 bundle is still available, the switch comes out even cheaper when split up
edit: also when I tried to return the bulbs this morning, it only tried to refund part of the order so looks like it should work!

Nice, thanks for confirming. I did try to see if I could cancel a single part of the bundle but I couldn't. Went ahead and ordered the BR30 bundle as well even though it looks like it won't be delivered for a while.
