Not sure what you're talking about. The typical price of the RT2600 from legit retailers / authorized sellers is $200.

That 5ghz MBPS beats most domestic-use routers. If I needed new wifi equipment, I'd get this at the current price.

Unless you have a real need for AX WiFi, I would not go with the RT6600AX. It's comprised design wise. No SD card slot, only 1 USB port and if you run the Intrusion Prevention package the USB port will already be used for the database and logging device for IP. To top it off, the RT2600 will be getting the same OS as the RT6600, which means VLAN possibilities. The only other advantage to the RT6600 is the 2.5GB option, but honestly, very few home users will have a need for that kind of wired speed.

Hopefully they improved their firmware since 2 years ago Synology routers were the most compromised and easiest to hack out of any brand. Talos awarded them that honor after it failing almost all their tests.

People buying AC gear this late in the game just puzzles me, might as well as flush your money down the drain.

Another top-tier WiFi 5 (AC) router that has dropped in price is the Asus RT-AC86U.
$132 without Prime subscription. $125 with Prime during Amazon's 2 day sale. The $132 price is still a historic low.

It says deal price and regular price.. so it is a one cent difference from the regular amazon prime price. LMAO

In my 3 level house (lots of metal in the walls/floors) I use 3 AC86U with Merlin FW... it crushes everything I've tried, including 3 of the best rated and top performing meshes by Netgear Orbi, TP Link, etc.

I dont even use the AImesh and it rocks, zero issues roaming, ten 1080p cams inside and outside, echo's in every room, lots of wifi interference from neighbors and even zigbee which 'might' make 2.4g noisier... all of that it it works great
