ALWAYS Sort by recent reviews & read them. Amazon is full of Chinese direct marketing vendors that dump junk products on the American market. They are notorious for providing free products for fake 5-star reviews. While this isn't a Chinese vendor there are still a lot of "recent" reviews that are very troubling.

I bought this about a month ago for same price as a Best Buy deal of the day. It's a great little toaster. Perfect for my toast and bagels. It toasts a lot better than black and decker or target branded toasters I've had in the $40 or less price range.

Bought this on a BF deal last year and sorry to say it's of very poor quality, lasted about a month before exhibiting issues and finally got tired of fighting the lever mechanism every time. Avoid this one unless you seek a challenge.

Totally agree. "Most helpful" reviews (the default sort) are often the least helpful and biased. Sort by recency.
