50's are Non-Expandable beyond 50 lbs if anyone else was curious.
The 50Lbs for $239 is a really good deal. I bought the Sport EXP (expandable version) for $340, but I ended up selling the EXP and instead got the Sport 50 (non-expandable) for $280....and I am super happy about it. The reasons were:

1) 50lbs on each arm is more than sufficient for me. I'm 5'7" and 160lbs. My bicep, tricep, shoulder exercises are roughly 20-40lbs with 10-15 reps. My goal is to stay fit and develop/maintain muscle. I'm not a power lifter. 100lb total for squats is sufficient as well.

2) On switching between weights with the EXP, I found the adder weights to +/- 5 lbs to be cumbersome. Yes, it only takes 30 seconds, but it was inconvenient especially when I'm doing super-sets or drop sets. The non-expandable 50lb do not require the adder weight and increments by 5lbs . It was perfect in being able to switch between 25, 30, and 35 lbs within 2 seconds with the pin. I loved working out so much more because of this difference. All the ELITEs and EXP versions of powerblocks require adder weights to go to +/- 5lbs.

I did some research on adjustable dumbbells before deciding that powerblocks were the one for me. For me, it came down to durability and price, which Powerblock came out on top. The square shape didn't bother me at all and now I love the shape since it doesn't roll away. Not requiring a stand was a bonus. Here's a good YouTube video comparing the various adjustable dumbbells and ranking them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVmEgHMhZKY

What kind of squat are you doing with two dumbbells? I've got another brand adjustable set and I do high rep goblet squats at the max weight (55) since I can't get full depth holding both. Are you squatting on a plyo box or something?

Woot! also has the Nuobell 80lbs version for $294 per dumbell. It's worth a look I'd think.

The additional 10% off for Prime member using the woot app made me pull the trigger on the Sport 50. Gonna return the walmart fitflex now for some brand names

People seem to love these more then the bowflex model. What would be the main advantages of having this instead of the bowflex?

Power blocks are supposedly indestructible (thus their long warranty which used to be lifetime I believe). Bow flex has a warning label on it saying caution, do not drop lol

The Bowflex dumbbells are wide so you might have trouble doing some exercises like Arnold Press. I bought the PowerBlock Elite USA dumbbells and thought they were a little big until I saw the Bowflex at Costco.
The Bowflex also have plastic gears which may not be durable enough for long term use and some also complained about the switching mechanism getting stuck from time to time.

Ordered the 50 lb set, was about to go for the bowflew set.

Employer is offering $250 fitness reimbursement so this was timely.

EXP are expandable to 90. But to get there from 50 you need stage 2 and 3 expansion kits. For those who say 50 is enough, don't forget legs and shrugs.

re: Nuobell:
Not sure. If you look at the listing on Amazon, some people say it is Nuobell, some say it isn't. No idea.

I have the Elite EXP's with stage 2 and 3 so up to 90lbs. They are one of the best investments I've ever made. Super efficient and very durable. I dont change the 5 lb weights out just go up or down in 10 lb increments. If you lift the difference between 5 -10 lbs is very minimal so that complaint by the other poster is irrelevant to me. Powerblocks over Bowflex Selecttechs all day as well.

They're not the best but eBay has decent squat stands. I go by the basic rule of thumb of being able to squat my own bodyweight for reps. Bought plates at Walmart back when they were cheap. At 52, I don't feel the need to go beyond that.

Read the Amazon reviews. 23% 1 star ratings. The actual dumbbells aren't the quality swedish brand. Knockoffs

If you only need to go up to 50lbs I highly recommend the Core Home Fitness dumbbells.

If you're using 90lb dumbbells, you're not the audience. 5lb increments is a lot for some people. Luckily they make different products.
