You have to do it in store. I use GameStop gift cards to buy Steam Gift cards all the time. They were going to block this earlier this year but there was a big outcry. I just bought some steam cards last week with GameStop gift cards and I go every month to redeem my $5 Pro Coupon for a $10 Steam gift card

So I could go into, say, Gamestop or Bed Bath and Beyond and use this happy card to buy a gift card for a different store?
Yes on Gamestop but no on Bed, Bath & Beyond...BBB stopped selling 3rd party gift cards in February.

Has anyone been buying Amazon GCs at GameStop recently? I haven't seen them the last few times I've looked.
Yes, I just bought them yesterday at my local Gamestop. However, the availability of Amazon gc's varies from store to store. I find in my area only around half of them carry the Amazon gc's.

Can you use one gift card on multiple locations? e.g. Can I spend $28 in Macy, $22 in Panera from same $50 gift card?
Of course you can. You can use any amount big or small at any of the stores printed on the card upto the value of the card. You can do 20 transactions or 50 transactions if you like, each time at a different merchant (listed on the card) upto the value of the gift card.

That's nice, as it's different than the way the "Happy to Say Thanks" card "swap" worked last month. For those, you redeemed Citi points for a given $$ amount in a "Happy to say Thanks" gift card balance. That card balance can not itself be spent, only converted via a second website into your choice of retailer's gift card (Lowe's, Subway, Fanatics, Ulta, or BJ Brewhouse).

I'm hoping those come around again - I cashed in 5600 points for $700 in Lowe's cards, quite clutch for a recent 1st-time homeowner!

Got the cards. I got $400 worth of steam gift cards today. Each gamestop only lets you redeem for $200 every 2 hours. I also tried redeeming them for online steam gift cards - which worked. You can only buy $50 at a time, so my wife and I both made accounts and bought $50 each on 1 card.

I tried buying another $50 and it errored out so I wonder if there is a timer for buying online.

Are you saying you can use the Happy cards at Gamestop.com?

Yes. I used them on gamestop.com to buy a $50 steam gift card. I tried again a few hours later and it errored out. So I assume there is a limit per day or per number of hours to use happy cards to buy steam gift cards on gamestop.com.

I redeemed 32k points for $400 of these and ran into a redemption issue as well.

I was able to buy three $50 steam wallet cards online with separate purchases but the 4th kept erroring out.
I called GameStop customer service and they told me 3 is the limit online per account and I'd have to go to my local GameStop. So I did that and they allowed me to buy $200 just like it was mentioned in another comment. Created another account with a different email address and successfully bought the remaining $50 online no problem.

The interesting thing is the store manager was telling me about the $200 limit in store and it's global for the store. If someone else came in 30 minutes after I did to buy a steam card, they wouldn't be allowed to.

Now gotta wait for that Steam Deck queue!!! SmilieSmilie

How long did Gamestop take to deliver Steam codes?

I purchased one card, and it arrived instantly. I tried purchasing a second, and I got errored out.

I then placed an order next day, and it went through. However I am still waiting for the code to show up.

Balance already shows $0 on the card, so I don't see how this is a payment issue.

Do your codes appear in your order history?

My first card arrived immediately. The 2nd was different. For me the order went through but no code. Neither the first order or second showed in the history when I checked. The next day when I woke up, the code was in my inbox and finally the order history showed both transactions. I did the 3rd purchase and the code arrived immediately. The 4th failed and led me to calling GameStop as mentioned previously.

So yeah I bet tomorrow AM you'll have your code. Nothing to worry about I hope!
Best of luck!

Hey just a follow up. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Unfortunately my order was cancelled, so I went in store and bought a card from there after the expected upsell show from the Gamestop employee. Politely say not interested.

I had to show the card to the cashier for the security code.

Anyway, card does work on gift cards at Gamestop, but I'm not sure if I want to go through with this experience again.

I don't have the cards anymore but I do seem to recall there was a disclaimer on them saying they were not valid for gift cards. I remember thinking gee would have been nice to know this beforehand. If they tried it and it failed, sounds like Gamestop changed something. If they were using the disclaimer as an excuse, I'd definitely try a different location.

Agree, this was a pain and I probably wouldn't do it again either. vomit
