These are great if you have crappy friends who would spill sugary sticky drinks it in your cup holder, then don't clean it up and don't tell you about it. Then you can just remove the cup holder condom, hose it down then defriend them instead of sticking toothbrush into your factory cup holder and slowly brush it out

EDIT: also sometimes it might not be your friend, but your wife's piece of turd friend that you don't have control over. You don't like her but your wife is buddy buddy with her and there's nothing you can do about it.

Normal 16 oz plastic water bottle doesn't sway that much unless you are driving very aggressively

IMPORTANT the issue with the stock rubber cupholder is YOU CANNOT REMOVE IT.

If you pull the stock rubber cupholder out, you have to remove ALL of the trim to reinstall it.


So this is basically a sacrificial cupholder that you can remove to wash in the sink, etc.

Used to have this but then I removed it. It reduces the size of holder and some of my bottles don't fit any more. Instead i just got some pads underneath for easy of cleaning.
