Similar to above I have I have an i7 predator with otherwise same specs and it's been great. Do yourself a favor and buy a decent cooling pad as well.

What do you think about Acer Nitro laptops, are they any good? As is in do they last?

I was debating between the Dell G15, HP Victus and this one.

Be warned about Acer on eBay. I received an obviously used product that hadn't been refurbished. They refused to provide a replacement after days of back and forth and made me just return the laptop. Some get lucky and get a basically new laptop, others like me get ones with cosmetic and functional damage. A key rubber pad on mine was damaged so the laptop tilted to the left when used on a table.

I've gotten good refurbished laptops in the past, but experience with Acer sort of soured me on refurbs going forward.

If you need to drive two external monitors then this only has 1 HDMI out.
Can anyone confirm?

This link says it doesn't:

I have an older one of these with the 1050ti. Everything looks exactly the same. These are great specs for the price, but also beefy, noisy, and hot. Great as a desktop replacement or one that doesn't move around a whole lot. Not good for travel. Don't even think about breaking one of these out on a plane, they are huge.

I have had good luck with Acer on Ebay (2 laptops) and so far so good. But whenever dealing with refurbs you're rolling the dice a little.

Wifey has expressed interest in something thinner and lighter, but she also plays games on it. Hard to fit those specs under $800 and not wind up with something the same/similar in size/weight.

Last thing I'll say is these are easy to upgrade if you want more ram/storage. There is an access panel on the bottom (on mine anyway), you don't have to disassemble the whole laptop which is nice. Some of the modern / sleek laptops are a real pain to get open without breaking stuff.

I have had mine for the past 3 years. 1050ti version. I usually keep it in my car and use it daily at work. Still going strong

I'd prefer an Acer over HP (my last HP Omen burned itself up on my desk while not gaming after 11 months). But I'd take a Dell over either. I've never seen a Dell that's poorly made.

No, it's still $598.39.

In the deal post it mentions, "add to cart for discount price." Review the eBay listing and you'll notice it has a 12% off coupon. So, doing the math, $679.99 - 12% off (when added to cart) = $598.39.

I've seen enough tests for all the different cooling pads to see that the fans are just a gimmick, and a noisy one at that. Simply raising the laptop an inch or so off of the desk to get better airflow to the vents accomplishes the same thing. The fans don't lower thermals. The stands/pads without fans are cheaper, and they're silent.

How is this compare to the steam deck for gaming?
