Welcome to Apple 8/256 config is the standard, BUT say you want to add Memory or Storage.. LOL this is wear the bar of soap is tossed down.. the Macbook m1 it was 400.00 to upgrade the SSD from 256gb to 1tb ... Memory is pretty much the same. You would think the memory would be 16GB standard to atleast make things run faster... Nope..

The performance of these machines on 8Gb of RAM is already proven. People in these comments are either uninformed or are simply hating on Apple with misleading information. 8Gb of RAM works really well with MAC OS and these chipsets in particular. These machines absolutely destroyed the last Intel generation Apple used in performance, even with less RAM.

Before you post, at least do a tiny bit of reading on the product.

Some forget that the vast majority of people who buy this type of iMac aren't going to be doing much more than surfing the web, emailing, video chat, and light photo and video editing if that. The M1 Chips is capable of doing a lot with the unified 8 gigs of memory. There are tons of videos proving this. But most will never tap into the full potential of what it can do. The 8 GB of memory is more than adequate in this package. Besides, if you are needing a machine to do extensive photo and video editing, you aren't looking at an entry level iMac. You'd think many would understand this by now. And I write this on a windows pc from a windows user but dislike the intellectual dishonesty from those who have no understanding of the highly successful and lucrative Apple universe.

Yeah my dad legit used a typewriter until 2007 and the only reason he stopped was because the company stopped producing the ink for it. This is perfect for him LMAO

Yes. This was an outstanding deal - this looks like the $1499 config with more ports, Ethernet, more GPU, and Touch ID. I can't confirm a lot of that, but it def, comes with more ports, Ethernet and gpu, so I am assuming the rest.
