I have open up some dollar tree solar light and many of them using tiny 1/2 battery that last only a few hrs.

Only thing I don't like these lights is they don't make to last. But than all solar doesn't make to last. I have a solar that been working fine for 4 years, and this year it stop working. The light itself is fine, the solar panel is the one not charging the battery.

Seems like the weak link in all of these solar lights is the crappy epoxy resin/plastic topped solar panel itself. The sun just destroys them and they'll start to scab over and stop collecting light.

I have nice all-metal solar lights that looked fantastic for the first year or two and now barely last 2 hours before going dead. Last year, I used a headlight polishing kit to restore the clarity of the solar panel and they worked like new again for the rest of the year. Now they're all back to ruined again.

Having looked at several types of solar lights, they all seem to use almost identically designed panels. I'd pay a premium for solar lights with an actual glass solar panel installed but that just doesn't seem to be an option at the home stores.

Walmart Rollback Solar Lights here [walmart.com]

These lights are plastic and 5 lumens. The solar lights that went frontpage recently were glass and 3 lumens. Dollar Tree lights are plastic and 2 lumens.

Please read the reviews. The incentivized reviews are glowing; the rest are not so hot. But I know some of you like to live dangerously and will want to give them a try. Biker2

Does anyone know the color temperatur of these. 3000K or more. Want to know if the light is warm (yello) or cool(white)

Thinking about this

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/produ...66RZ&psc=1

$56 for 4, 700 lumens (each)

5 lumen can mark a path or an edge, hardly anything else.

Moving into a new house soon. Might pick these up as cheap path lights. Don't need it to be super bright for security or anything, almost mood/landscaping lights.

These things are junk. I bought them, and half stopped working within 3 months, some were in an area that only got a couple hours sun, and stayed dimly lit for about 20 minutes. Others fell apart, when trying to remove to move, they break, and the stake gets stuck in the ground.

For those complaining about their older lights not holding a charge after a year or so… these have batteries inside them that can be replaced. Just renewed a set that hold up all night again!
