You don't get different zones with sync though do you?
When using the sync box it does 3 different zones, so with the play strip and this together you get 3 zones on top, 2 on left, 2 on right, and 3 on bottom.
Had my dog chew an end of my old version lightstrip so the overall length was like 4-5 ft after i cut the eaten end. Do not ask how this happened. Placed that one behind the couch for some back lighting. Have the gradient lightstrip and hue sync for the tv box along with a few color bulbs for the front. Replacing the back one and reusing the normal color one elsewhere could be nice. The gradients are definitely an upgrade over the standard strips imo. Seems like an good price and wouldn't mind waiting a few weeks. Again Philips hue stuff is not cheap but overall the app functionality/support is great and have never had any issues with any of my hue lights since I started using them 4-5 years ago.
The posts before me sound like a bunch of paid bots to pump the product up. How are these any better than what Govee has?
Quite a lot actually. Things like:
1. Better smart home compatibility (including HomeKit).
2. If you are using it for ambient backlights for TVs, sync box works much better since it detects colors from the digital source (hdmi). It seems that govee relies on camera?
3. Stuck with their ecosystem. Already has hue hub and other hue bulbs? Then it makes sense to buy the ones that uses same platform.
4. Premium markups. Philips were the first major brand to jump onto this smart light businesses. With the early r&d license purchases along with marketing, I guess they'll need to cover them up somewhere.
With that said, I would never buy these. With the generic wifi enabled lights with homebridge, I could achieve the same or better light controls (costs time to set up though)

Hue is better… but I struggle with the overall value proposition given viable alternatives. These are almost luxury items to me. And I'm one all for spending money on tech, gadgets, luxury/hobby items.
My 2 cents.
