Each to their own. I bought those red dispensers last time on sale and have had nothing but a nightmare using them. A tape gun, I can use no problem and much prefer!

Can't comment on the price vs historical price, etc.. but the amount of time that having a packing tape gun has saved me over the years, has probably paid for itself 100s of times over

Tape gun just seems natural. Helps if I wrap a red bandana around my head and pretend to be rambo.

The 3M tape guns are trash. Tape gets stuck to it, and is a shipping nightmare. Made that mistake one too many times at Home Depot.

The little one you linked works well for small jobs.
