Yeah it should. They have said that for a while now though.

Much prefer the Nest App though.

Does this use the Nest App or Google App?

EDIT: Nevermind.

Is it just me, or are the nest cameras and doorbell very overpriced given that you have to get the subscription for the good features?

Can you run these without a monthly fee? "Cheap" cameras seem like such a ripoff after you factor in perpetual monthly subscriptions.

I have 2 of the Gen 1 outdoor models that use the Nest app. Just ordered 2 more. They have gone up in price since they were discontinued and are in high demand because they are wired for power and perform well.

For the wired version how long is the usb cable? Looks like you can't use a third party cable?

Edit: according to the Google store page the cable is 10 ft.

I love my other two.i have one wired. Two battery and one doorbell. Adding this to the mix.
What is the quality overall? I've been eyeing but I think I'm most concerned about clouds. 24/7, and night vision.

We used a cat5e cable with Poe then a Poe to usb a female adapter. So length is as much as you'd like if you do it that way.

These cameras are HOT GARBAGE. I would avoid them like the plague. I have one on my driveway and it's about 12 feet away from the far side of my driveway. A farking UPS truck could drive into my driveway and unload packages for 30 minutes and the camera wouldn't detect a thing. This is after having the camera replaced by google for the same issue and constantly disconnecting from wireless. I added an access point in my garage to specifically address this. Same issue.

The only solution for the cameras to not be steaming piles of shit is to purchase the 30 ft cable and plug them into an exterior outlet. Then it picks up everything. I bought two of these cameras and I replaced them all with Ubiquiti cameras. There is also a monthly fee for data storage with these cameras. No desktop interface for looking at the cameras.

All of this is documented in their super helpful support community.

Go take a look. It's all people complaining about the same things. The only solution for the battery cameras to function correctly is to plug it in. Oh and to get the camera to work with the plug....you have to remove the camera from google home and then re-add the camera as a camera that's plugged in. Just beware this piece of shit and save yourself the time and money.

$39.99? 🤔 & yes with TotalTech.
Are these also good for outdoor use? I'm having a brain fart.

They are not & just for indoor, but if you were gonna use them indoor anyways, this I think is the better deal.

So much more than YiHome or Wyze. Can someone educate me on why it's worth it?

It's showing indoor only on the specs. I thought they used to have a ridiculously priced outdoor version. At this price, probably worth it to try it outside

Not defending how certain features are paywalled, but at least one subscription covers unlimited cameras. I have an unreasonable number of these...

I already have multiple Nest cams (not this version) with Nest Aware. If I bought this one, I'd make it wired for 24/7 recording. Given that, would I still be stuck with using the Google Home app (as I've read elsewhere)? Or can these be added to the Nest app like other cams?

I know the Home app is supposedly being updated soon (doubt it), but right now it's severely limited and unusable for surveillance. So, despite this deal, it would be a no-go if it wouldn't work in the Nest app like their other cameras do.
