The Samsung Store seems to be poorly representing the sale. According to Keepa price tracking, it hasn't been listed for $499.99 (the highest model was listed from the Store) since September 2019, almost three years ago. It has been consistently getting more affordable since then and in June 2022 it was being listed for $189.99.
That said, $179.99 is the lowest price Amazon has listed it for longer than a day, but the discount is only $10 from the previously listed price.

It's $10 cheaper then any price before and you are bitching about it and giving the OP a thumbs down? What Samsung's website does, has absolutely nothing to do with what the OP posted as it refers to Amazon NOT Samsung's website!

Ok. There's no need for abusive language. Let me clarify a few things.
For one, I specifically said "The Samsung Store" (the Amazon seller) to try to avoid confusion. I did not mention "Samsung" as a brand or the OP.
Second, I didn't even thumbs down OP because I knew that, yes, some people would find the $10 discount worthwhile.
I just wanted to draw attention to the fact that the discount that The Samsung Store on Amazon has listed is not representing the situation well.
I'm sorry you are upset, but I really think I worded the post in the most nonaccusatory way possible with respect to OP, while also relaying facts about the discount listed on the Samsung Amazon store page.

You worded your response well and the content of your response was relevant. This is not a $330 savings in any arguable sense. The $499 list price for this SSD is not relevant as no one who uses SD would purchase the 970 EVO 2TB for twice what the latest model is selling for ... the Samsung 980 PRO 2TB for $249 which interestingly enough has a much lower list price at $379 on the Samsung store on Amazon.

Saying that someone is "bitching" about something isn't "abusive". In (US) English it's an alternative to the word complaining. Just so that you're aware.
It also sounds like you aren't hip to the MSRP (AKA "list price") game that most manufacturers and retailers play here in The US. MSRPs are mostly meaningless these days.
