I think this is the cheapest going rate for an oil change because it's $5 to dispose of your oil. I get a special drop-off-your-oil-at-night-when-shop-is-closed discount though.

1. Go to http://www.midas.com/
2. Put in your Zipcode in the "Find Great Values in Your Neighborhood" Box
3. Go to "Great Offers" Click here for great coupons

Just make sure you got a new oil filter and your oil looks clear. Or watch them drain your oil. At the very least, you have to check your dipstick right?! You can see the new oil is much clearer.
Midas did rip me off. They charged me $750 for a radiator change (cost of my car practically). $350 for a radiator part. I looked it up and it was $250 retail for the top of the line radiator for my car @ Autozone nextdoor. Like seriously, a mark up over retail isn't smart when they could have easily marked up their labor hours. I could have went nextdoor bought the radiator and walked over and say, install this...save $100. No, they don't have to buy the part for you on this location. Oh and they went $20 over their estimate and didn't tell me. I disputed that and got the quoted price.
Do your homework people! Trust no mechanic, doctor, dentist, or anyone that charges a fee for services rendered. Not even if you've been going to them for years.

Nope.

I have gone into Midas and got a $9.99 oil change before and they don't do anything else. (for that price of course)

For those who can't get this deal, read on:
I just saw this other threadfor $18.99 for synthetic blend oil change and tire rotation from Firestone.

Here is the link to the coupon [firestonecompleteautocare.com].

As for this deal...

No such special in Portland, OR.

$25 for Vancouver, WA

thanks and repped. Was needing both.

Question though... my car is a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage, and most of the time I do the oil change myself with Synthetic oil. Is it bad to do this oil change with regular oil? Is it overkill for me to use synthetic on this economy car? 5W-30 is the oil.

TIA

synthetic is never a bad idea. you could probably go longer w/o an oil change with synthetic than regular oil.

Firestone in San Diego uses Synthetic Blend. for same price, Synthetic blend is a little better :-)
