The new one with 16 gb ram and 512 GB, the 12th Gen CPU, matte display and a windows hello compatible camera will be on sale 8/3 for $1,119. It def should have a better gpu for this price and better cooling but for basic stuff it is still a neat laptop.

I would say it is still $200 overpriced but you won't find it for cheaper.

they removed the fingerprint reader in the new one but windows hello works pretty well.

I hear the new one still has 2 nvme ports (2 in 1 has a diff form factor on the second port)

thermals are still a problem but from what I have read a little less so. the older ones throttle pretty quick given their weak cooling system. they need to add a little weight and get some good cooling.

Out of curiosity, is it going to be on sale at costco? And also, if so, do you have to buy a membership to buy the laptop (assuming so)? Thanks!

Yeah, at Costco 8/3. I am on the fence from early reports. Still throttling, worse battery, removed finger print reader (windows hello camera replaced it)

Yeah, thanks, I eventually found the post. I'm still considering it, my only hesitation is upgrading the ssd. There's only 1 vid I've found of someone doing it on this model and it looks a bit sketchy. Easy to damage the case or break a tab it looks like...
