Their original price of 25 was probably too much. With that being said, I like this oil despite it coming from multiple regions

just a fyi -

Dont buy more then you need, Olive Oil will go "off"/racid after a time so if you wont use it in a year, dont buy that size.
Should Store Olive oil in non-see through containers
Try to look for ones that are "single Source", multiple sources generally means cheapest stuff possible
try and look for a Bottle by date, then use withing 18-24 months of bottle by date.

Filippo Berio isn't real olive oil.

That said: if you open it, it smells good, and tastes good, then enjoy it.

Just make sure you compare its value to genuine olive oil. Don't pay the same unit price for fake olive oil as genuine olive oil. I would compare the value of this against Canola.

You cannot trust anything from Italy due to rampant corruption and dishonesty and it's well documented as you've posted. I'm even suspect at the certified oils though the few that I have bought like a high end Tuscan one from Aldi have been pretty good.

The cheapest, higher quality and real EVOOs are probably California Olive Ranch and some brands sold by Grocery Outlet. Some of what Costco, Aldi, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's carry would pass, but not a lot. You can find McEvoy Ranch and Cobram Estate at GO sometimes.
