Wow, I can't believe they have inventory of the non-G2 version. Great price. From what I could tell, it is optically the same formula as the G2 version.

Agreed. I think the differences are said to be minimal such vignetting, and flare reduction coatings. The biggest thing that stood out was not being able to use the Tap console for firmware updates for future mirrorless bodies (if you plan on upgrading)
