Most of the high end laptops are overkill for general people. This is really a great productivity/editing/work horse in a very slim and smaller form factor.

also not a huge discount, saving what 11% I think? 1760 for the full config? not hot enough for thumbs it seems
shipping 3+ months
If you will select prebuild is 10-12 days. couple of bucks differences in price.
the same full configuration with HDD 1TB and RAM 32GB
I have a dilemma between Yoga 6i 16' ARC or this one.. I really enjoyed the 2in1 design but I a little bit afraid of Intel ARC dGPU since I'm editing occasionally 4k videos
yes - me, I had to ditched 14 M1 Pro since I need win for work
Have you received it yet or just purchased? It definitely checks a lot of boxes. Yes probably overkill, but maybe this will add to longevity. I'm guessing the screen can't match the MBP 14". Probably speakers too.
iwheela

I ordered on Friday
my main concern:
-battery life - laptop doesn't have EVO badge
-missing 2in1 design (my personal preference)
Costco has a Ryzen 9 version. Which one is better?
In simple words, You will get better single threaded performance and slightly better multi-threaded performance with Intel when the laptop is plugged in as 12th gen normally performs better than Ryzen 6000 series when given a lot of power. This laptop is a Thin and light design and can't push over 55W-60W to the CPU and will perform slightly better when plugged in. Other advantage is Thunderbolt 4 port in the Intel models which lets you connect tons of accessories, high resolution displays or external GPU docks. Although Ryzen 6000 supports USB4, offering thunderbolt like functionalities, Lenovo did not implement it in this laptop. But the downside will be very poor battery life, common to literally all Intel 12th gen laptops and high temps.
With Ryzen models, you'll get better battery life, 7-8 hours with light usage and better thermals. Also, in battery Ryzen laptops perform normally better since they can operate closer to their max capacity at low power and when in battery almost all manufacturers limit the amount of power, going to the CPU.
