Other than it being Vera Tools 3rd party, I can't recommend this myself.

I had heaps of problems with this planer clogging, and overheating on really shallow passes. I really like Makita, and I hoped it would've been better.
,
And the corded version has similar issues after seeing AvE's video he just did.

Honestly, I'm yet to be impressed by any of the cordless hand planers on the market.

Decent deal for those that don't want to shell out for the brushless version. This Makita is one of the better cordless planers out there, at around half the price of the yellow and red versions.

Weird, was looking to buy one a week ago. Is BL version any better? I have a corded horror fright version that I really have zero complains, but though a batteria version would be more handy.

From a lot of experience, the one side discharge of the Makita corded KP0800K [homedepot.com] has no issues with clogging on dry wood. Having literally fit hundreds of solid core fire doors, wooden beams and trued studs with not an issue besides replacing drive belt and cutters that are worth updating to carbon.

With not even 5% of the same experience with the dual side discharge of the corded KP0810 [homedepot.com] that is bulkier, more expensive and with 1 amp more power (but 1,000rpm slower), it seems to get a little confused by the diversion and path of least resistance for chips, but works decent and especially with a vacuum.

My choice is still the original tried and true corded Makita KP0800K [homedepot.com] above, but if wanting to use a vacuum, will require the purchase of the adapter nozzle [amazon.com] for $7 or less.

I don't have the battery OP, but the similar or same same design as the KP0800K, what are you using it on to clog it up? Perhaps wet, treated lumber? Just curious...

I bought this to replace my Philips Norelco multitrimmer and I can't stress enough how much of a mistake that was.

Do the blades last longer though? I have some thick hair.

Very long story short, a non-electric hand planer is a much better option unless you have a very specific reason for this electric hand planer.

I learned after the fact and after going back and looking at all these top woodworkers.. yeah, most woodworkers use non-electric hand planers that've been in the industry for a long time and are masters at their craft, even the younger upstarts that're well respected.

If you have very specific reasons where you know this is best, get it. Like for doors not doing so well in a door frame, these are amazing. But if you think this is better than a quality non-electric hand planer, I strongly urge you to go to a subreddit or a major woodworking forum to ask.

With that said..

Should you buy it at this price if you need it: YES

It depends on what you are using it for. If you are Building furniture or fine woodworking then yes a hand planer is a better option. If you are planing down lumber or the bottom of a door that is rubbing on carpet then an electric version is the only way to go. A good cabinet installer will have both tools to scrib with. Very similar thought process from an electric to a hand saw, there is a reason for both.

I use mine 4-5 times a year over the past few years. Would definitely buy again at this price if necessary.

Hints my original comment... I literally addressed all of this in my comment knowing a comment such as yours would come along.
Nah, your post says these are only good if you have a "very specific reason".

A better way to break it down is this: electric planers are great for framing, hand planers are great for woodworking.

Framing is very specific. I appreciate you proving my point! Big Grin

FYI, for anyone that cares, Makita is operating in Russia as though nothing is happening in Ukraine 🤷

Doing finish work, 90% of the time you're planning doors. You don't want to do that by hand. These make the job a lot easier.
