XM4s are amazing. I won't have to buy a pair of headphones for another decade.

I just got the XM4 from them and they look new. I don't know how loud jrod needs to listen to headphones but they're screaming at half volume for me. The noise canceling works great but can be a little uncomfortable for just a second with sudden air pressure changes like opening a door. I thought about waiting for a deal for these but I'm happy I didn't spend the extra $110... mine were on sale for $149.

I was in the same boat as you and disappointed with the "quiet" music but I found a solution at least in my case:

If you happen to be an iOS user, there is an iOS setting that's on by default to protect your hearing while wearing headphones:

Settings > Sounds and Haptics > Headphone Safety > Reduce Loud Sounds > OFF

This was a game changer for my XM4's. Obviously applies to other headphones as well. Hope this helps!

I've bought 3 sets of Sony headphones from secondipity. They have all arrived looking brand new. This is VERY tempting to replace my XM3s.

Tell me, *why* is it so hard to switch between bluetooth devices on the XM4s?? They should let you assign a physical button to it.

When I turn them on they auto connect to two of my many devices, it's such a pain (and the auto switching is crap).

My XM4 were used for 8 hours a day for two years before they broke. Sometimes I slept with them on and probably crushed them a bit). I was able to get a warranty replacement for free. Excellent call quality, ok music quality (better than airpods, not as good as dedicated audiophile headphones), and build quality/comfort is also excellent. Would I buy the XM5 over the XM4? Nope. XM4's have a more compact design, allowing for travel use. Overall improvements in battery life and charge times are negligable. Music quality on XM5 is just ok after adjustments. Save the money and go for XM4. Never know what a used headphone has been through either...

Pulled the trigger on the XM5 just now. I'll update how I feel about them but this looks like the best price to quality and function while being modern.

Disappointing… ordered a xm4 earbuds from secondipity… case flashing red constantly, tried factory cable and two other cables… also left bud depletes from 50% to the voice telling you to charge within 2 songs…. So then i reseted the earbuds, forget the bluetooth connection from my iphone 13, started all over… same problem happened… case flashing red, and left ear bud depletes instant from 65% to 10% within two or three songs… i just initiated a return. Btw, the buds appears to be new tho but it didnt work well at all.

My buds are also defective. Keep disconnecting from my laptop. My Samsung Galgaxy buds+ never did that. Also, the left one sounds really bad in meetings. I also initiated a return. I think these are real returns, and defective. Some people have lower expectation or less sensitive to other people's problems. So, Sony and Secondipity keep taking chances.
