What is your go-to SSD with dram and a 5yr warranty? I am interested in a cheaper option than this or the Samsung EVOs.

Nice coupon trick, Amazon. This had been at $47 w/o the coupon for a while.

Original post also mentions the 1TB has a $5 off coupon to bring the price down to $84.99. It's not a big price difference from the usual price, but it's still a bit cheaper.

SSD's like this are still WAAY over priced per TB.

I'm in the ssd market. Would like to buy this or Samsung's evo nvme for extra $3 https://slickdeals.net/f/15923494-500gb-samsung-970-evo-plus-pcie-nvme-m-2-solid-state-drive-50-40-free-shipping

Which one would you recommend? My laptop has a slot for nvme. And both of these ssds are 500 gb

Go with the nvme if your laptop supports it, way faster read and write speeds.

got samsung 970 evo plus 2tb and everything is smooth but cpu is bottleneck

if you don't need the space then this is fine but even for 2.5" sata ssd crucial is so pricey vs samsung; this is tlc though

i rather pick nvme and leave the 2.5" bay open for a massive 8tb or something in the future when you actually need it (from a laptop perspective)

pcie 3x4 and sata is enough for majority of people that it's going to last a few generations of hardware for you unless you are actually transferring large single file or several that can actually flex the speeds

Like NeatWallaby said, go for the nvme; the speeds are much faster. Samsung has been a top dog in the SSD world for quite a while now. The speed difference may not be too noticable right now in real world use, but as technology continues to advance, those speed differences will become more apparent. Plus, it's a $3 difference.

To add to this, the 500GB 970 EVO Plus NVMe has a TBW of 300 vs 180 for the Crucial 500GB.

I was curious if this drive would fit? And what cabled would I need to get it to work? Thanks for any help you can give.
